Scrapbook Title Page Tips
Not to put any pressure on you, but the first page of your scrapbook album is pretty important. Scrapbooks tell a story, and the first page introduces the story. Having a title on this page is a requirement. The first page often displays a large photo related to the subject of the book. Let’s go over some first page tips.
Your title tells everyone what this album is about. Simplicity works because it helps everyone understand. If the book is about your wedding, then there’s no problem with titling it Our Wedding Day. If the scrapbook focuses on a particular person, put their name. Other information you can include on the first page would be facts like dates, locations, etc.
Use a pencil to stencil in your title first. If you want it aligned, use a ruler. This process will help ensure you’re happy with the end result. Using sticker lettering is another option, especially if you don’t particularly like your own handwriting (like me).
For those who like to be frugal, you can do your title lettering with leftover scraps. Take whatever pieces of background paper you have lying around and trace your letters onto them. Then use scissors or decorative shears to cut out your title letters.
It seems like everywhere I go now, I see alphabet letter photos. Have you seen them yet? You have an individual photo for each letter. The photo is usually of some outdoor object or architectural feature that also happens to look like a letter of the alphabet. When you compose words from these letters, it creates a highly creative effect. I personally think that it conveys the idea of the whole world cooperating to communicate your message. In any case, I brought them up because that might be another option for your scrapbook title.
As always, let your imagination soar, but don’t get so creative that no one else can understand.
